2009 was a huge year for the Weasel Report. At the beginning of this year, we moved up from a simple weblog filled with random thoughts, to a full fledged website with tons of content. In this one year, we’ve had almost 5,000 hits to the site, which is a huge milestone for us. And in one month, we’ll be starting our second year of providing you with the best reading material that we can (or listening material for our podcast listeners, or viewing material for our video watchers). We’re planning on stepping it up in 2010 by bringing in new campaigns, delivering better quality podcasts, posting more content, and much much more. We want to make the Weasel Report a regular stop for you as you surf the web for unique content.
As you notice by the top of the post here, the Weasel Report staff is quite small. In fact, I’ve been running the show solo for a year now. In an effort to broaden our, and your, horizons, we want to bring in new contributors to help provide new and cool content for the website… and we want those people to be you! Do you love to write, or have tons of ideas? Are you good at video editing and want a place to promote it? Are you a debater and want to get your podcast to people to listen to? Whatever it may be, we want to help you with your goals! If you’re interested in being a part of the new Weasel Report staff, e-mail us at contributor [at] weaselreport.com ! Unfortunately, we do need a bit more help than that. This website is funded out of my personal pocket, everything from hosting costs to prizes that we’ve been giving away. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we are currently unable to afford many of the luxuries that we had been able to before. The hosting of this website is one of those. We only recently began using advertising, which you can see on the left hand side of the page, but, we are in need of a little more of a boost than that. And therefore, we are going to ask for donations from you, the loyal reader. But we can’t just take your money from you… I can’t find it ethically moral to do so. So here’s the plan:
Our hosting costs us $110 for one year. What we want to do is take half of the total that we make, and donate it. We have a plan in the works on how to make this a very happy plan for a very lucky group of people, but we need the money to be able to donate it. So basically, our goal for the month of January is to make $220. To donate, just click on that cool yellow button that you see on the left sidebar there, and it’ll bring you to our simple PayPal page, where you can set up a donation in the amount of your choosing. We appreciate any amount that you can spare, and thank you for supporting us for the year of 2010.
