Recently, I picked up a new PlayStation 3 game, F.E.A.R. I’m sure that many of you know this game as the popular first person shooter that started out on the PC, then branched off with ports to the consoles. But, why does this game deserve an entire entry?
Earlier this afternoon, I was playing the campaign mode for the first time. Now, I’ve played horror games before, such as Resident Evil 4, but, I swear to you, I was seriously almost truly afraid while playing through this game. I was hoping beyond hope that I would be running with some squad mates of some sort, but naturally, most of the time I do nothing but run alone.
The thing that got me the most though was the sound. The sound is downright horrifying. I was playing with my headphones on, because I wanted to see what that would be like, and I was just scanning left and right desperately, hoping beyond hope that nothing would be around that next corner when the music changed.
I must say though, I love this game. It’s disappointing, because the multiplayer is lacking due to the fact that no one has the PS3 version, but, I tell you what… this game is still amazing. Oh, and one more thing.
Damn the A.I. for being so damned smart!! I literally had to stop, gape mouthed when I saw the soldier barrel over a box at me, doing a melee air kick attack. I couldn’t believe how SMART it was.

That game looks pretty sweet.
If I ever get my hands on a PS3 to either mod or repair & keep… I’ll have to get this game.
Yeah it’s always the sound that gets you in games likes these. Sadly though, I couldn’t even get through Resident Evil 4 or Doom3.
I am intrigued by F.E.A.R.
Mmmm. My brother got F.E.A.R. Scared the crap out of him. He’s 17 and he was just screaming and laughing at this one part because it actually scared him, and he loves scary stuff.
